19 Jan Monkey Do Project In Action | Blankets and Blessings Project Update
Wow. You guys are amazing.
“Thank you” doesn’t seem a sufficient way to express our gratefulness at your generosity. We were blessed and overwhelmed at the response to our Blankets and Blessings Project. Because of your generous hearts, we were able to send 11 towels, 4 hand towels, 26 washcloths, and 22 blankets to Redeemer Lutheran Church in Charleston, West Virginia. The folks at Redeemer placed these items in their blessing baskets that were delivered to needy families this holiday season. (We were also able to send two batches of snacks for the Feed My Sheep project.)
Because of you, some Appalachian families are a little warmer this winter. And here at Monkey Do Project, our hearts are warmed by the outpouring of love from those of you who donated and prayed for this project.
A few days after this project wrapped up, our furnace broke down. As a result, my family spent about 24 hours without heat. It was a really humbling experience for me that made me realize just how much I take the things I have for granted. I must have walked over to the thermostat five times, forgetting that it wouldn’t work. It’s just second-nature for me to turn up the heat when I’m cold. I’m thankful for this luxury, but I am even more thankful that Monkey Do Project was able to partner with you to help others who don’t have this luxury.
