Easter baskets for kids in need

Help Give Easter Baskets to Kids in Need

We are working with a shelter in West Virginia who has a unique need, specifically: they need 25 Easter baskets for kids who are living in their shelter right now.

The Easter baskets should be new, can have wrapped candy and new toys and books, but should not contain candy or toys  that small children could choke on.

Ideas for the baskets include:

  • New Easter basket
  • New (fake) Easter basket grass
  • Packaged sweets (no loose candy or anything out of the package, including no plastic eggs filled with loose candy)
  • New toys
  • New kites
  • New books

The Easter items should be shipped to arrive in West Virginia by April 7th.

Additionally, the shelter has a need for the following items (that could be included with the Easter basket shipment):

  • Towels and wash cloths
  • 55 gallon trash bags
  • Laundry and dish detergent
  • Bedsheets for twin and full size beds
  • Multi-purpose cleaners
  • Low sugar cereal
  • Oatmeal
  • Olive oil
  • Aprons
  • Healthy snacks

If you’re local, they also need:

  • Breakfast meats
  • Juice
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables

If you are interested in assisting with Easter baskets, supplies, or both, please complete the form below and we’ll get back to you soon with further information.

If you are going to be in the Charleston, West Virginia, area on Easter, the shelter is in need of volunteers to help serve Easter lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
